five of the best: hydrating toners/mists

Instantly gratifying, and good to use after an acid toner for some skin balance, hydrating toners are a nice addition to a skincare routine. Partcularly because of their lightness (it’s literally a water), you can keep layering them on throughout your routine or the day-to-day.

A hydrating mist isn’t going to change your life, but I personally love them (feel very boujee when applying) for sandwiching moisture. (ew was that a bit of a gross sentence?)

If your budget is limited, then don’t spend loads on one, they come in a big price range – honestly I’ve seen some that cost £70, which are only worth it for the lovely bottle and extra smell.

Get one though, your skin is probably dehydrated, and the skin ALWAYS looks better after some spritz. Like when your face looks better after a shower.

Here are my favourite five so far: (all cruelty free ofc)

  1. Beauty Pie Japanfusion Hydra-Prep Lotion. (£6.85 for members/£25)

This is essentially a hydrating essence. I decant it into a spray bottle and spray liberally for instant moisture. It’s vegan, it’s for all skins, it’s fragrance free and it lasts for a long time (150ml to be exact). In fact, the whole japanfusion range is lush.

2. Cowshed Refreshing Toner. (£17 for 250ml)

Big bottle of a very ‘wet’ toner. It soothes it calms, it smells a bit like spa. The pictured bottle is the old packaging, btw. Vegan, and v. nice!

3. Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Toner. (£4.99 for 150ml)

Cheap and easily accessible, you’ll only need to pop down to Boots for this one. I don’t love how it’s in a heavy/bad for the environment cannister, but the ingredients list is good and it does make your face look instantly better. Avoid the eye area (no, really!), and go mad!

4. Pixi Glow Mist. (£16 for 80ml)

This is properly glowy (some might not appreciate that). Even for my oilier skin, I love it. The packaging is good, the mist itself is not very wet therefore perfect for during the day when you don’t want to look like you’ve just been running through the rain. Loaded with natural oils and niacinamide, this really does feel like skincare too. I would even use this over makeup. Smells fab too – LOVE!

5. Pixi Rose Tonic. (£18 for 250ml)

Again like the japafusion I decant this into a spray bottle. This is a real traditonal hydrating toner. I reviewed it in full here. Can’t go wrong with this one.

If I were to only boy one again and again it would the Beauty Pie Japanfusion. Partly because I’m a member and I can get it so cheap.

If I were to recommend one to everyone, it would be the Pixi Glow Mist or Rose Tonic. Suitable for all, and instantly gratifying.
