Not in the ingredients:

animal derived raw materials, organic solvent remnants, parabens, propylene glycol, fragrance, alcohol, mineral oil

Problematic ingredients?:

essential oils, for some. I like them on my face

Pump, in opaque black packaging to protect the active ingredients from sun/expiring too soon. Tendency to be a bit leaky, though.

How to use:

I use right at the end of my routine in the evening. It’s quite a rich oil, so I never feel the need for anything else on top.

How much:

£63 for 30ml (I got it on offer at LookFantastic – so watch out for that. The bottle lasted me about 6 months with very regular use).

The Good:

This retinol really worked for me. It’s so gentle and non-drying in the oil base, and the oil means that skin absorbs it really well. My spot scarring has reduced, my completion is more balanced, my skin is smoother. I have had absolutely no irritation whatsoever. Having said that this retinol is powerful – it contains retinyl palmitate and hydroxypinacolone retinoate. These two speed up cell turnover, hydrate, reduce fine lines.

The Bad:

There is a clear scent, just no added fragrance. I personally like the nutty smell.
